Laying Down the Law At Last

At last, after much Sturm and Drang (storm and stress) here is the epic first installment of my long-awaited and much sought-after voiced comic, the adventures of Francis Scott Key. I'll admit, it's a little rough, but oh boy do I love my dearest darlingest voice actors! So please everyone watch this video, my peeps and I worked very hard on it and as the series goes along it will only get better. If you prefer to watch this on a different medium, you can go to youtube and search my name, this will take you to my channel where you can watch it for hours on end. Also you can check out my facebook page. Cheers everybody!

Why I Have Ceased Laying Down The Law!!!

So things seem to pick up quickly half-way through the semester, and that is the excuse I'm using for not maintaining the adventures of FSK or this blog or any other publication-type endeavor which I am engaged in. So here's some of the things I've been through lately.
  • A computer virus that has slowed down my lap top to the pace of an arthritic snail riding a wave of cold tar in January (Massive system restore will ensue *frownie face*)
  • Two rounds of auditions for the spring theater shows. (A part in a vignietty ensemble play ensued)
  • Beginning rehearsals for Bertold Brecht's The Life of Gallileo (Awesomeness ensued)
  • Snow (nasty red slush ensued)
  • A much over-due oil change (giving large amounts of money to Big O ensued.
So Yeah, that's about it. I promise as soon as I can get my computer fixed I will commence Laying Down The Law!

Laying Down The Law!

As you may already be aware I am trying to gather support for my web-comic, The Adventures of Francis Scott Key Attorney at Law. I have started a blog on which I post jpegs of each episode and I am hoping to soon post videos of what I call "voiced" comics. Basically it's like teen girl squad but even more low-budget. You can view the hilarity at www.fskfullcolor.blogspot.com. There is a link to it on my side bar as well as on my facebook. Also, most people who read this blog have been invited to "like" Francis Scott Key on facebook. Please do so and tell all your friends! I know you're thinking to yourself, "Oooo Dory's written a historical fiction comic, it must be too cerebral and high-brow for normal humans." Let me assure you, it is neither of those things. Not even 1/8 of it is accurate, and the less you know about post-revolutionary America, the more you will enjoy it. So please share with everyone!

The Cloud Wraps Around the Mountain

I have this fun idea to post a new picture every day, we'll see how well it goes. Since I took these pictures a few days ago, here's a few of them to make up for the intervening days. Hopefully I can post today's picture tomorrow.

So these are some shots I took from the parking lot of my apartment complex. There's a guy here at the festival who once told a bunch of patrons that we can tell we're going to have to move the show inside "When the clouds start wrapping around the mountains." I looked out my window the other day and saw that the clouds were wrapping around the mountains and I had to take a picture.

Where Angels Fear To Tread

Where is that? you might ask. Well, youtube of course! Like two years ago or something I had the idea of recording my own ukulele vocal cover of Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love," so I set about arranging it. I found a set of tabs I liked and used some audio freeware to record several versions. This is about the third or fourth recording, and is, I think, the best one. I was considering posting it on youtube along with a little slide show type thing and then I thought, "Why not go all the way? Make a little animation?" So it was back to the internet for some more editing freeware (hurray for freeware!). I dusted off my colored pencils and my Sony Cybershot and sat down at my desk at the ave to make a little animation (for those of you who haven't seen me for a few days this is why). So here it is. It's a bit raw since I don't have the best equipment, or the best lighting, or the most patience, work ethic, talent and know-how, but for my first animation I think it turned out pretty alright. Enjoy. (It's also on my facebook. Don't try searching it on youtube, it's like the 70,000,000th video of the same title)

Goings Off

Hello, for those of you who still check this in the vane hope of an update, here are the things I have been doing recently, and what has ensued. They are in reverse order.

  • Worked a 12-hour day - Boardom ensued.
  • Began creation of a stop motion animation video to go along with a song I recorded on my computer. Look for it on youtube soon! - Stopmo fun will ensue!
  • Worked an 8-hour day - laziness ensued.
  • Learned "Delirious Love" by Neil Diamond on the guitar - Rocking out ensued.
  • Worked an 8-hour day - tiredness ensued.
  • Watched a butt-ton of movies - Media overload ensued.
  • Drove home from Salt Lake - 3+hours of singing ensued.
  • Had Gellatos with Tanner and Matty - Laughter and stories ensued.
  • Went to Cali's baptism - a few little tears and chasing a toddler ensued.
  • Saw Mis Familia - Happiness ensued!
  • Saw Captain America - Nazi fighting dreams ensued.
  • Went to a ghost town with Mom, Dad, and Tyler - Picking up old glass and taking pictures of fossils ensued.
  • Woke up at Bethany's to the Sound of her and Tyler rocking out to the Friday song - peppiness ensued.
  • Went to a free Decemberists concert in pioneer park - lusty fan-girl-ness ensued! (I could swear Colin Meloy looked at me.)
  • Drove to Salt Lake - Getting stuck in construction twice ensued.
That's all the really exciting stuff! Thanks for reading, and I hope I'll have pictures of my adventures posted soon.

No One's Watching

I am aware that no one reads this. Facebook has replaced my blog in many ways plus I never take pictures of anything I do, or feel a big enough urge to share my experiences with everyone. Maybe someday....maybe someday...Anywho, I'm working on figuring out how to make a website for my latest obsession: a comic called, "The Adventures of Francis Scott Key, U.S. Attorney" it's the writer of the national anthem as you've never seen him before! So stay tuned for that.
